The OnePlus 5 is one of the hottest phones of the summer, considering the increasing number of leaks and reports detailing the next flagship coming from Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus. We saw a series of OnePlus 5 renders just a few days ago, showing various rumored aspects of the phone’s design. Since then, a supposed real-life photo of the handset has leaked, complete with a rumor that fans of the OnePlus series definitely won’t like.

We can only see the back of the handset, which features visible top and bottom antenna lines, and vertical dual lens camera placed above the OnePlus logo.

But the source of the picture also shared a troubling detail about the OnePlus 5, one we did not see coming. Apparently, the OnePlus 5 is going to be more expensive than what you’d expect from the company. The final price is not confirmed but it will be higher than previous devices to “signal competitiveness with the biggest brands,” and could go up to $650. At that price, you’re better off going with Samsung’s Galaxy S8.

Oneplus 5 is an upcoming smartphone by OnePlus. The phone is rumoured to come with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels.
The OnePlus 5 is expected to be powered by 2.45GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and come with 6GB of RAM. The phone is rumoured to pack 64GB of internal storage cannot be expanded. As far as the cameras are concerned, the OnePlus 5 is rumoured to pack a 12-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The OnePlus 5 is rumoured to run Android 7.0 and be powered by a 3600mAh non removable battery.

Connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and USB OTG.

The company's claim to fame is its bid to offer flagship-level specs in its smartphones, at affordable prices. OnePlus initially sold its smartphones only through an invite system where customers would be sent an invite to purchase smartphones and they had to make the purchase within a fixed time frame. Of late the company has held open sales of its smartphones too.

  It is no secret that OnePlus 5 is going to be launched soon. What is secret right now is the list of features it will come with. Or is it? It seems that OnePlus has started dropping hints about the OnePlus 5 through some of the videos the company has produced. In the videos, which feature Indian celebrities and which that went live yesterday, the company talks about a mysterious new phone that is coming soon, hinting at some of the features it is going to pack. Reading between the lines reveals that the OnePlus 5 is likely to come with dual selfie camera. It is also likely to have newer colours, including funky yellow and will possibly have very thin bezels around its screen.

The India Today tech had earlier exclusively confirmed that the phone will come with the rear dual camera setup, similar to the one inside the iPhone 7 Plus and phones like Micromax Dual 5. Now, a video that features Sushant Singh Rajput, hints that that phone will also come with two cameras on the front. The feature makes a lot of sense as it will help OnePlus compete with its Chinese competitors like Vivo and Oppo that are focussing in a big way on the front cameras. It will also let OnePlus claim that it offers best photography features on both the rear cameras as well as the front ones.
There is nothing official about the OnePlus 5 features for now, but given the fact that these teaser videos come just weeks ahead of the expected OnePlus 5 launch, it is almost certain that we are going to see a dual-selfie camera in the OnePlus 5.

But that is not the only big feature that has been "revealed" by the teaser videos. In another video, which features Sania Mirza, OnePlus drops the hint that the OnePlus 5 will come in more funkier colours, including yellow.
In one more video, OnePlus drops some hints about the design of the phone. In this video it hints that the OnePlus 5 will feature a screen that will have very thin bezels. This will help the OnePlus 5 look not only more slick and futuristic but will also help it compete with the likes of the LG G6 that have extremely narrow bezels.The videos are part of OnePlus promotional campaign titled Meet the OnePlus Star Community.

Although some renders of early OnePlus 5 prototypes have been leaked - the first one leaked exclusively by India Today Tech - we have learnt that those renders don't actually show the exact design. For now the design details of the actual OnePlus 5 remain under the wraps. Even though it could be similar to what we have seen in renders, it is definitely not final.

OnePlus 5 hardware, price, India launch and everything else we know

Other than the aforementioned details, there is some more information about the OnePlus 5 that has leaked here and there. Here is a quick summary of it:



- it is almost certain that the OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.

- It is also certain that the phone will come with Oxygen OS that is based on Android Nougat.

- OnePlus 5 is expected to come with at least 6GB of RAM. Although some variants may also have 8GB RAM.

- OnePlus 5 will definitely come with 64GB internal storage and will have 128GB variant as well.

- The OnePlus 5 will definitely have metal body, although some rumours also suggest ceramic body.

- There is no word on the kind of cameras that the OnePlus 5 will pack in. But expect the front 
camera to have the same 16-megapixel image sensor that is inside the OnePlus 3T. On the rear, although rumours suggest a 16-megapixel sensor, there is a string possibility that the OnePlus 5 will come with different image sensor compared to what is there in the OnePlus 3T.

- The OnePlus 5 is almost crayon to come with the 5.5-inch screen.

- The OnePlus 5 will certainly come with a new version of Dash Charging and will definitely have support for two SIM cards.

- OnePlus 5 will be launched in India at the same time when it hits the global markets. Expect the launch in June, or early July. We have a feeling that it is going to be June.

- OnePlus 5 will certainly come with fingerprint scanner.
