ONEPLUS 3T GOING TO DISCOUNTINUE

Soon after announcing that it will discontinue the OnePlus 3T in the days to come, OnePlus India, on Friday reached out to India Tech Team to confirm that it will continue selling the phone in India at least till the end of this year.

To recall, the company had previously said - via a blog post - that only limited numbers of the OnePlus 3T will now be available for grabs making way for the OnePlus 5. The company, however, did not mention a time-frame up to which it will continue to sell the OnePlus 3T before phasing it out. 

"The OnePlus 3T (both 64GB and 128GB) will continue to be available for purchase in India until later this year. OnePlus products and accessories are available through all three official sales channels, including oneplusstore.in, Amazon.in and the OnePlus Experience Store in Bangalore," OnePlus India said in an email.

Although the company has reiterated that the OnePlus 3T will continue to be available throughout 2017, it must be clearly understood, that no new units would be manufactured from now on which means, the OnePlus 3T would continue to sell, until stocks last.This is the last call to buy the OnePlus 3T before stock runs out. Only a few devices are left in our warehouse, so purchase yours before time runs out at onepl.us/3T,the company had previously said in a blog post.

The statement that has just come in, although it suggests that OnePlus may not officially discontinue the OnePlus 3T until the end of 2017, doesn't take away the fact that the shelf life of the OnePlus 3T is all but over even as the company prepares to launch its next flagship phone, the OnePlus 5. OnePlus has, however, categorically confirmed that it will continue to offer software updates for the OnePlus 3/3T though.
